Frequently Asked Questions
Before you get in touch.
Practical answers to common questions about instructing the firm and the services we provide.
01How do I arrange a consultation?
Call 0757 682 097 or email info@fateattorneys.co.tz with a brief description of your matter. The office will confirm availability and arrange a suitable time.
02Do you advise clients outside Mwanza?
Yes. The firm is based in Mwanza and may advise or represent clients in matters arising elsewhere in Tanzania, depending on the nature of the matter and the required court or tribunal attendance.
03Do you advise companies and employers?
Yes. The firm advises businesses and organisations on employment matters, commercial agreements, corporate documentation, disputes and other legal obligations.
04Do you handle employment matters before the CMA and High Court?
Yes. The firm handles employment and labour matters, including proceedings before the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration and the High Court Labour Division.
05Can you review or prepare an agreement before I sign it?
Yes. The firm drafts and reviews commercial agreements, sale agreements and other legal documents. Seeking advice before signing can help identify unclear obligations, legal risks and important terms.
06Does every dispute need to go to court?
Not necessarily. Depending on the circumstances, negotiation, mediation, settlement or another available process may be appropriate before or instead of litigation.
07What should I prepare for the first meeting?
Bring the documents connected to the matter, relevant correspondence and a short timeline of events. Mention any court dates, notices or legal deadlines.
08Can I discuss my matter in Kiswahili?
Yes. You may communicate with the firm in Kiswahili or English.
09How can I find out the legal fees?
Contact the firm with the nature and scope of the work required. A fee quotation can then be discussed, including whether court fees, filing fees or other expenses are separate.
10What if my matter has an urgent deadline?
Mention the deadline immediately when contacting the office and provide the relevant notice or document. Sending an enquiry does not by itself mean that the firm has accepted instructions or assumed responsibility for the deadline.
